You know it happens. Admit it. You head to the movie theater, turn on the tube, or pop in the DVD and hope your favorite seat is still vacant by the time you sit down.

 

The images of someone else’s version of reality unfold over the course of thirty minutes or four-and-a-half hours (depending on which cut of Lord of the Rings you’re watching). In the end, the credits roll and you stare at the screen uttering those immortal words: A) WOW!  B) Whatever  C) What the?
